Full itinerary
Day 1: Arrival Yangon – City & Nightlife Exploration
Arrive in Yangon at your convenience. As Myanmar’s former capital and largest city, Yangon is well connected to both Asia and Europe. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to a centrally located hotel. A pre-tour briefing will take place in the hotel lobby at 6:00 PM, where you will meet your guide and fellow travelers and go over the itinerary.
In the evening, head out to explore Yangon’s nightlife, especially in Chinatown. This lively area offers a mix of authentic pubs, bustling BBQ spots, and some of the best street food in the city. Dinner and overnight stay in Yangon.
Day 2: Yangon City Tour – Shwedagon Pagoda
Spend the day discovering Yangon’s city center, known for its unique blend of colonial-era architecture and modern developments. Many historic buildings still retain their faded charm, offering insight into the city’s past. Visit key attractions including Kandawgyi Lake, the Reclining Buddha, and several temples (appropriate dress required).
In the afternoon, enjoy lunch featuring local specialties before visiting the Martyrs’ Mausoleum, where Aung San and other prominent figures are laid to rest. Later, experience sunset at the magnificent Shwedagon Pagoda, one of Myanmar’s most sacred and visually stunning landmarks, adorned with gold plates and precious stones.
Observe local worshippers and soak in the peaceful atmosphere. In the evening, enjoy more street food and optional drinks, with local cocktails available at very affordable prices.

Day 3: Yangon – Naypyidaw
After breakfast, depart for Naypyidaw, Myanmar’s capital, located about 367 km away (approximately a 5-hour drive). Stop along the way for refreshments.
Naypyidaw is known for its vast size and surprisingly low population, giving it an almost empty, “ghost town” feel. Explore key landmarks including government buildings, the Union Parliament, Supreme Court, Presidential Palace, and ministry residences. Visit Uppatasanti Pagoda, a grand structure similar in scale to Shwedagon Pagoda.
In the evening, visit the central water gardens to watch a musical light show and experience the local night market. As the Thadingyut Festival begins, the city lights up with colorful decorations and candles.
Overnight in Naypyidaw.
Day 4: Naypyidaw – Bagan
After breakfast, drive approximately 4 hours to Bagan, with stops for photos and rest breaks along the way.
In the afternoon, explore Bagan, one of the world’s most remarkable archaeological sites. Once the capital of the Pagan Kingdom, it is home to thousands of ancient temples and pagodas, with over 2,200 still standing today. Visit selected temples and enjoy sunset from a scenic viewpoint.
In the evening, head to Taw Pyi Temple to witness the magical atmosphere of the Lighting Festival, with illuminated temples, candles, and floating lanterns.
Overnight in Bagan.
Day 5: Bagan Exploration
Optional early morning hot air balloon ride (subject to weather and availability) for a breathtaking sunrise over Bagan. Continue exploring the area, starting with a visit to a local market. The tour also includes visits to nearby villages, offering insight into everyday life in Myanmar.
In the afternoon, visit a traditional lacquerware workshop and the impressive Ananda Temple, one of Bagan’s finest architectural masterpieces. Enjoy another stunning sunset over the temple plains, followed by evening festivities of the Lighting Festival. If available, attend a traditional puppet show.

Day 6: Bagan – Kalaw
After breakfast, travel to Kalaw (approximately 4–5 hours), a charming former British hill station located 1,300 meters above sea level. Along the way, enjoy scenic landscapes of rice fields, flower farms, and local villages.
Upon arrival, take a walk around town to experience its peaceful atmosphere, cool climate, and colonial-era charm. Engage with locals and learn about their experiences, including recovery from recent floods.
Dinner with a view and overnight stay in Kalaw.
Day 7: Kalaw – Inle Lake
Start the day at Kalaw’s vibrant local market, where hill tribe communities gather to trade goods.
Visit Hnee Pagoda, home to a unique bamboo Buddha, and meet local families who have been affected by recent events, gaining deeper insight into local life and resilience. Continue to Nyaung Shwe and transfer by boat to your hotel on Inle Lake.
In the afternoon, explore the lake by private boat. Visit Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda, observe traditional crafts such as silk weaving and blacksmithing, and pass floating gardens and stilted villages. Stop at Nga Phe Kyaung Monastery and Nampan Village to see local cigar-making and boat carving.

Day 8: Inle Lake Exploration
Optional early morning boat trip for sunrise photography, capturing the iconic one-legged fishermen of the Intha people.
Visit the rotating local market, where ethnic minorities trade goods in traditional attire. Continue exploring Inle Lake’s scenic waterways, including a visit to Indein Village, known for its ancient stupas and atmospheric pathways.
In the afternoon, visit craft villages and observe traditional lifestyles on the water.

Day 9: Inle Lake – Mandalay
After breakfast, depart for Mandalay (approximately 5–6 hours), with stops along the way.
