Origination of Panchi
This kind of Myanmar traditional art originates from Bagan, develops together with Buddhism religion. Therefore, Bagan is known as a repository of Myanmar conventional paintings and sculptures during the 11th century A.D.

Panchi through historical Stages
Konbaung era: It is regarded as the time released the greatest number of paintings. They are assessed more vividly and colorful compared to other periods.
Yandanapon of Mandalay period: the new thing in this stage is that they preferred drawing on folding books called Purapaik and canvas than on the walls. At Mahamuni Pagoda, Mandalay, there are a great number of wall paintings which have been mostly collected and imitated by Myanmar’s Archaeological Department
