Myanmar Applies New Visa Regulations

Some new regulations for Myanmar visa have been applied by the Ministry of Immigration and Population of Myanmar. With the new system, there are 12 types of entry visas including social, official, diplomatic, journalist, crew, transit, educational, religious, business, employment, workshop, and tourist.

People can gain application for four types of visas including business, workshop, transit and crew in some Airports such as Nay Pyi Taw International Airport, Yangon International Airport and Mandalay International Airport, while can gain other visas in Myanmar embassies worldwide. According to the new regulation, the diplomatic visa is free, but the duration is based on the length of duty required. $20 USD is charged for 28-day official and tourists visas, whereas 70-day business, employment and religious and education visas cost USD $36. Meanwhile, the 28-day social, journalist, crew and workshop visa cost USD $36.

Three types of entry visas including multiple-journey special, special re-entry, and six-month re-entry visas can be applied at 122 Pansodan Street, Kyauktada Township, in Yangon.
