Panbe is the process of making necessary things by tempering iron in the furnace. Blacksmiths create items from wrought iron or steel by forging the metal, using tools to hammer, bend, and cut.
Thanks to the art of the blacksmith, the artisans could make and repair a wide array of things varying from the most complex of weapons and armor to simple things like nail, tyre, scissors, hammer, adze, pickaxe, and lengths of chain.

The emergence of this Myanmar’s traditional art traced back to the early Bagan period (11th century A.D) and it had experienced a tremendous improvement in the mid-Bagan Ava and Yadanapon period. The art of blacksmith from Inlay region get the prestige among South East Asian countries and constitutes one of the artistic wonders of the world.
